Light-Wave has manufactured many multi-cavity closure molds for USA. Some of them are automatic unscrewing molds. Light-wave is the expert of auto-unscrewing molds.

All multi-cavity molds must be high production molds. It needs good design for long tooling life and the shortest cycle time. Also it needs high speed and high precision equipment for manufacturing to achieve the highest accuracy. All of inserts are manufactured to the detailed mold design within its tolerance. They are all interchangeable.

Light-Wave strongly recommend to use Husky hot runner system for high production mold. Our experience shows Husky hot half has the best injection consistent and balance. The cost is a little bit high but we believe it is always worthy for a high production mold.

We normally use Uddeholm Stavax steel (SS420) heat treated to 52+/-2 degrees HRC for cavity inserts, S-7 steel 54+/-2 degrees HRC for stripper plate and H-13 steel 50+/-2 degrees for core inserts. Sometimes beryllium copper is used for cooling purpose.
